Watched a french movie "Joyeux Noël" during French lesson last week. A film based on true story that happened during WW1. That night the soldiers' lives on both sides of the trenches are changed forever; drawn together by Christmas spirit, they lay down their arms on December 24, 1914. French, British and German soldiers emerge from their trenches to meet their enemies, shaking hands and even exchanging cigarettes, champagne, and chocolate, as they wish each other "Joyeux Noël," "Frohe Weihnachten" and "Merry Christmas."

some friendship can be stored in the fridge then you can take it out for reheating anytime u want :D and will still be as fresh as before. tired physically and mentally. cant rmb when was the last time i woke up with the fully energised feel. cant rmb when was the last time i woke up naturally.
hate snowballing. I respect Prof. Bala to the max. It would be the same case as how YK said Mr. Tang was his idol. and i feel bad for not completing the tutorials. feel guilty for myself. and to a certain extent. for Bala. Bala said. studying actuarial is like trying to break a stone. You dont break the stone because of the last hit, but because of the continuous hits on the stone.
A rather close friend threw a phrase to me to describe my current situation. and i think it's quite true. Need to tranform myself into a studymachine soon. right now actually. Screw the project and the lazy me who could have started everything earlier. Miss my family. Pa Ma Gor Shen Mei. i wanna go home but i dont dare. seriously. Hope they are doing well. Wish they are happy. I do believe in God when it comes to pray for my family. having hard time trying to concentrate on schwork and meetings. braindead happens all the time. burn midnight oil is really not good. sometimes will feel the burning of my organs inside. These few days really dont feel like meeting anyone else. dont wanna spread the blue colour to my friends. and yet longing to see them. Their presence will somehow lighten the blues.
Pandan bread. One of the little things that will make me happy while mugging on my desk - its irresistable fragrance ~ and it tastes really nice :D""
Birthday celebrations - one on 31Aug another on 30Sept. Haha photos are abit overdue so i photoshoped abit to make up for the freshness loss.
Admit it. You do this kinda silly stuff once in a while too.Bala is so gonna kill me and kick me out of ACS if he knows that i only completed 3 out of 10 tutorial questions for tmr. I so dont have the 'heart' to try out the rest.
1 quiz down and i'm seriously not feeling good about it. was really darn stressed with 30 over people keep pressing the calculator buttons like crazie.
My brain hasnt been functioning well during French. Felt as if half of my brain was dead after lesson today.
There's harmoc tmr and i dont feel any good about it. for the first time and hopefully the last time.
Wrong mentality by keep thinking that i can push everything to the last minute then the stressed-out me will die die finish that thing.
It's hard to find someone else having the same design feel as me.
Somehow 3er's library meet-ups have started albeit the low attendance and inconsistency.
Looking forward to december. and yet dread of sem 2. contradicting
3more quizzes and 3 meetings in one week time. 3more quizzes expected to come in weeks. 2 projects. 1 case.
[argh wad's up with all these negative feelings. as if i have been passed through by Perona's Horo (one piece)]

I'm borrowing time from the future. and i dont wanna pay the interest.

IT lesson was very interesting today. We did a simulation of a company which improves from its manual order-processing system to IT-aided system and competed among our tutorialmates.
We were split into three companies, each company having one order processing team, an IT design team and several quality checkers. The company sells bike-related products and we had to process all their order forms by determine the total cost, identify out-of-stock items and calculate shipping cost as well. Each company was given a darn thick pile of customers order forms and a catalogue with 1000+products, an out-of-stock list and a shipping cost list. The goal of each company is to improve the speed and quality of the existing manual order processing sytem using IT solution. Every 10minutes we will be updated of how many order forms have been processed by other teams and our team and the simulation lasted for an hour.
At first, it's all manual work. I was in the order processing team doing the eyes-straining activity looking through the looooong catalogue for the item, find the cost, write the cost, then next item, check whether it's out-of-stock anot, check postal code, check shipping cost, total-up customer's cost. Our strategy was to process those forms with fewer (2 or 3) items since an IT solution will come later to help to process those longer forms. and it was a correct strategy and we were ahead of the other two teams by the end of 30minutes. with about 40+orders forms gap. While we were doing the processing job, IT team was working to come up with an IT system to help us process those forms.
Then after that, our IT system was finalised and implemented. Cost finding and calculation is all done on a spreadsheet. Faster fingers first time! Fingers were actually running through the numberpad like crazie. But human errors came in. We have more rejected forms from the QCs coz of typo and one opponent team managed to catch up with more form processed than us. In the end the winning team processed all the 300 forms correctly and our team: 276.and the last team with less than 100. (found out during debrieft that they were having company bonding time instead of doing the work haaha) woohoo.
Debrief. Lesson learnt: Communication is very important for IT team to implement their stuff! Must understand what the end-users want and it's always useful to do it yourself to know the problem better, thus a better solution. The end of simulation was followed by SQL (Structured Query Language) lecture, which happened to be as interesting as well (:
Je ne sais pas.
Maybe JNSP is one of French MSN lingo. If MSN over there is aussi populaire que [as popular as] what we have here. Anyway. I dont know what's the word to describe my current life now. Life in uni as a second year. and life on the earth for the [almost] 20th year. Busy occupé busy. Busy over things that i'm not sure where i will be led to. JNSP. It's like, i know exactly what's wrong and what's the thing that shouldnt be there but it seems like i cant rectify it. [Roar]. Some farnie quotes from my act sci prof, Dr. Bala :-1- If you don't do the adjustment here [refering to the stating of the limit of x or y], you[r marks] will be adjusted.
2- Sometime the students will get unhappy if i say the question is easy.
3- When you are doing your tutorial questions, imagine yourself are in a dark room and are trying to get out from the room. This is how those Nobel prize winners got their theories.
4- Students from other uni do this course in 2years but you all have to do it in one sem. It's very tough here. But you were the one who chose to come here.
Erm something like that lar. lol.

Well, i'm not supposed to let people outside ATYH know about this but heck kare. :P
Just watched Secret. Was halfway doing my Stats Modelling tutorial and realised that i needed some break. and this break was an inspiring one. A 2007 film directed by Jay Chou with him himself as the leading actor. A "simple but very beautiful" love story, not much CG, no scenic view, no big casts but yet i was mesmerised by the music hidden all over the place in the film. The main plot revolves around the secret that cannot be told, which was introduced in the beginning of the film that it is related to the secret piano song. Thereafter, the whole film is fully filled with different genres of music, played using piano, the King of music instruments. The revelation of the secret at the end was quite well done as in it actually explain every question mark in my mind while i was watching it. At least the suspence didnt bored me and i had a "oic" feel after knowing the truth. Anyway there are still some plots that are quite redundant/should have been elaborated more.. eg The part about the oldies that both XiangLun and XiaoYu like. Personally the part that i like the best is the piano battle scene. Mayb i'm suaku or wad but i was really like wow how can a person's fingers move so damn fast? Overall it's quite c0ol to be a movie with music as the backbone . Go watch if u still havent watched it !
